Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is an advanced gas separation technology. It is a circulation process of pressure adsorption and pressure desorption by molecular sieve.

The pressure swing adsorption oxygen generator uses the pressure swing adsorption technology and special adsorbent to enrich the oxygen in the air at room temperature. In the mid-1970s, PSA technology was first applied in air separation and applied in chemical industry in the United States and Germany. By the mid-1980s, the development of chemical industry played a key role in improving the performance of molecular sieve, making it possible to miniaturize the equipment.

According to the different adsorption and desorption pressure, the process of oxygen I production by pressure swing adsorption at room temperature can be divided into three different processes.

(1) Psa-02 is similar to the process of nitrogen production by pressure swing adsorption. Compressed air with certain pressure (0.3-0.55mpa) is removed by air = air pretreatment system to remove oil, dust and most of the gaseous moisture, and clean air enters into psa-o2 system adsorption tower, and most of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and residual water in clean air are absorbed, and oxygen is separated. When the impurity components in the adsorption tower reach the set control value, the oxygen producing adsorbent of the adsorption tower is regenerated by desorption and desorption at atmospheric pressure. The adsorption separation system composed of two towers is controlled by PLC PLC PLC PLC PLC, and the continuous oxygen production is completed by the open and close of the program control valve []. The oxygen production process is usually called psa-o2.

(2) Vacuum desorption and pressure swing adsorption oxygen production (vpsa-o2) is conveyed by blower blower to deliver low pressure raw material air = gas (25-39kpa), and then purified and removed dust, it enters into adsorption tower of vpsa-o2 system. The adsorption tower is a two tower or three tower system. The product gas of the adsorption tower is oxygen. After nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water vapor in the air are adsorbed to the set control value, the adsorption pressure is low, first desorption is carried out at atmospheric pressure, and then vacuum is pumped to a certain degree of vacuum through vacuum pump, so that impurities of adsorbent in the adsorption tower are completely desorption and regeneration. The adsorption separation oxygen system composed of two or three towers is controlled by PLC or DCS (data control system), and the continuous oxygen production is completed by the cycle switching of program control valve. This process is usually called vacuum desorption pressure swing adsorption oxygen production process (vpsa-o2).

(3) The air of low pressure raw material (15-19kpa) is conveyed by the blower of vsa-o2 blower, which is purified and removed and then sent to the adsorption tower of vsa-o2 system. The adsorption tower is a two tower or three tower system. The product gas of the adsorption tower is oxygen. After nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water vapor in the air are adsorbed to the set control value, due to the low adsorption pressure, the pressure desorption is often conducted first, and then vacuum pump to a certain vacuum degree for vacuum desorption, and the impurities in the molecular sieve in the regeneration adsorption tower are completely removed. The adsorption separation oxygen system composed of two or three towers, and under the control of PLC or DCS system, the program control valve cycle switch completes continuous oxygen production. This process is usually called vacuum desorption oxygen production process (vsa-o2). The vacuum desorption equipment is larger in scale and more economical.
