Nitrogen adsorption at atmospheric pressure is a normal temperature air separation technology. Compared with the traditional cryogenic air separation process, it has the characteristics of simple process flow, easy equipment manufacturing and installation, flexible start-up, safe and reliable, high degree of automation, simple operation, less investment, and low operation cost suitable for small and medium-sized equipment.
In the process of nitrogen production by pressure swing adsorption, the core material is carbon molecular sieve (CMS). Generally speaking, under the condition of adsorption equilibrium, when any adsorbent adsorbs the same gas, the higher the gas pressure, the greater the adsorption capacity; On the contrary, the lower the gas pressure, the smaller the adsorption capacity.
Because of this, the adsorption capacity of oxygen and nitrogen is very different under different pressures, so this mechanism can be used in carbon molecular sieve to achieve the purpose of air separation for nitrogen production.
