First of all, it is necessary to know the parameter requirements of the nitrogen generator (flow, purity, pressure, dew point, etc.), only in this way can we make a correct choice. The flow of the air compressor must be large, so as to make the finished nitrogen flow large. In the ordinary nitrogen production system, the outlet gas of the air compressor is connected to the air storage tank, the air storage tank, the cold dryer and the precision filter, then enters the nitrogen production machine and the nitrogen product storage tank, and finally reaches the final gas consumption point. The air compressor matched with the nitrogen generator is actually very simple. It mainly depends on the purity of nitrogen you need. The higher the purity, the more air you need. In this way, the higher the power of the air compressor, and vice versa. Generally, the air compressor is selected for the nitrogen generator with 99% purity according to the ratio of 3:1. For example, if the flow rate of nitrogen is 100 cubic meters per hour, the air handling capacity required by the air compressor is 300 cubic meters, and the air handling capacity marked by the general air compressor manufacturer is marked by minutes, which is converted to 5 cubic meters per minute, then the air compressor handling capacity only needs to be greater than this value. The purity of nitrogen is more than 99%. For the pressure of air compressor, generally 0.8 MPa is enough.
The second step is to select the air compressor. Now widely used air compressors are mainly screw type air compressor and piston type air compressor. Both of them have their own characteristics and can be used in nitrogen production system. For small-scale nitrogen production system, piston air compressor with lower price can be selected. There are two types of piston air compressors, oil-free and oil-free, which need oil-free lubrication for nitrogen generation system. Spiral air compressor is generally used in medium and large scale nitrogen production system. Screw air compressor also has two kinds of micro oil screw machine and all oil-free screw machine. Considering that the price of all oil-free screw machine is very expensive, micro oil screw machine can be selected, but the back end must have purification part (cold dryer and precision filter) to ensure that the compressed air is relatively clean.
